Photos: Inside the American Sign Museum's Main Street Expansion

After six months of construction, the American Sign Museum is opening a new neon-filled portion of their "Main Street" space. The new wing will officially be open on Saturday, July 13.

CityBeat got a sneak peak of the 20,000-square-foot expansion of the museum's “Main Street” that will add more signage, as well as program and event space. A brand new room built to resemble an old movie theater will include a functioning auditorium that plays an educational video.

ASM, which houses over 100 years of American sign history, opened in the former Oesterlein Machine Company-Fashion Frocks Inc. building in Camp Washington in 2012. This new expansion into a previously unfinished portion of the century-old building doubles the museum’s size.
