The Hamilton County Board of Elections has announced that the county has hit a record for early voting.
“This is the first Presidential Election at our new location, 4700 Smith Road in Norwood; and we are setting records for both early in-person voting and absentee mail-in ballots,” said Director Sherry Poland.
For 2016's Presidential Election, early in-person voting totals were 27,248. In 2012, there were 24,146 early voters. As of today, the Hamilton County BOE says there have been more than 50,000 early in-person voters.
In terms of absentee ballots, the BOE says out of the more than 179,000 mailed out, 138,000 have been returned.
“We are energized, even after working 12-hour days, by the outpouring of positivity from voters and encourage everyone to make a plan on how they will vote this year,” said Deputy Director Sally Krisel.
