Bofa Barter Night, an event celebrating the visual and sonic arts is coming to Northside on Friday, Aug. 30 from 6-11 p.m.

Northside, though just a two-mile stretch along Hamilton Avenue and its cross streets, is a buzzing hub for all things arts. With a variety of local businesses, restaurants, cafes and music venues, the neighborhood is home for many local artists of all mediums.

Hosted by Cincinnati’s Burrito Boys Booking and WeirdCin Collective, Bofa Barter Night will be a two-part event held at The Comet, a Northside bar and concert venue, and the Boxelder Community Room, a well-known community meeting space for Cincinnati’s art and music communities.

At Boxelder, a supply trade/swap organized by WeirdCin Collective will be held for local artists and musicians to donate andd/or swap unused items and supplies.  All art supply donations left after the event will go to Indigo Hippo, a nonprofit art supply shop in Over-the-Rhine. The swap will take place from 6-11 p.m.

At The Comet, a lineup of six Cincinnati-area local bands and musicians — Sculptor, Heist, The Ganzfelds, JV Golf, Kelly Eryn and Cosmic Space Bunnies — are set to perform. The first band is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 30. With each group performing a different genre and sound, Burrito Boys Booking hopes to reach a wide and diverse audience.

“The more we meet and talk to each other, the better our local events will be,” said Burrito Boys Booking in a press release. “You never know who might be out there doing something you want to be apart of, and vice versa.”

Bofa Barter Night welcomes all ages and neither event requires any ticket purchase, though donations to the supply swap and performers are appreciated. Attendees are encouraged to travel between both the Boxelder Community Room and The Comet, both located in the same strip of storefronts, throughout the evening.
