A new sports bar and lounge in downtown Cincinnati is preparing to open its doors at the end of the month.

Vintage on Race, located at 500 Race St. in the Foundry mixed-use development, set its opening date for Friday, Aug. 30. Owner Further Concepts and Investors, the same hospitality management group behind Baru, Lori’s Roadhouse and the Voices of America Country Fest, says Vintage on Race is a great spot to catch a game, grab a drink and enjoy live music.

“We’re excited to be bringing Vintage on Race to the Fountain District and to make this a home base for grabbing a bite to eat, watching a game and celebrating life’s moments, both big and small,” Tyler Wogenstahl, owner of Further Concepts and Investors, said in a press release. “Vintage was built as a place for people to spectate socially — a place to stop in and hang out while you’re out enjoying the city. It’s going to be a terrific addition to Cincinnati’s urban core.”

Local firm GBBN designed the bar and lounge, which features a 9-foot-by-36-foot video wall to watch sports, with other large TVs around the space to provide a view from every angle. The color palette and décor offer a retro vibe, with hues of gold, copper orange, magenta and deep blues that bring the space to somewhere between comfortable and luxurious, catering to both patrons who want to celebrate or those who just want to unwind. Its location in downtown also makes it an ideal spot for after-work drinks.

On the menu, guests will find elevated-yet-approachable eats, including a range of Midwest favorites like the Pie Pan Nachos and the “Vintage Meal,” which offers a burger or nuggets, fries and an adult beverage or shake. There will also be healthier options to accommodate different diets, like the Buffalo Cauliflower, Grilled Avocado Smash and Killer Kale Salad.

"Vintage’s food will be a mix of classic American, unique, eclectic and healthy fare options you expect to find in a diverse city like Cincinnati,” Vintage on Race’s head chef, Robert Grace, said in the release.

Patrons can visit the bar and lounge for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Vintage on Race will also offer a weekend brunch, with dishes like red velvet ricotta donuts, a Baru-inspired breakfast stir-fry and hot chicken and waffles. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The grand opening is on Friday, Aug. 30, and attendees will be able to meet former Bengals wide receiver AJ Green and other special guests. The event is open to the public and reservations are encouraged but not required.
