American-style brasserie The Davidson opened in The Foundry, a mixed-use complex across the street from Fountain Square last month, taking over the spot formerly occupied by Royce.
The restaurant is owned by Thunderdome Restaurant Group, which owns and operates some of Cincinnati’s most beloved eateries, including Pepp & Dolores, Bakersfield and The Eagle.
“With years in the local restaurant scene, it’s a pretty exciting feeling to be opening a concept with a dining room that overlooks Cincinnati landmarks as iconic as Fountain Square and the Tyler Davidson Fountain,” Joe Lanni, co-founder and owner of Thunderdome Restaurant Group, said in a press release last July after signing the lease for the space.
The menu is described as “a classic American brasserie meets French and Italian influence.” It features dishes like handmade pastas, steak frites, the Davidson Burger (gruyere, caramelized onions, dijonnaise, french fries and bearnaise aioli), bone-in pork chops and a selection of soups and salads.
The Davidson is located at 501 Vine St. in downtown Cincinnati. You can learn more here.
