On May 18, Mountain Dew kicked off another round of its special edition series DEWnited States Label Collection contest, which features state-inspired labels for all 50 states — and a very familiar hippo face can be found on Ohio's bottle, along with a flying pig, baseball, buckeye leaves and a few other state symbols.
The promotion runs through July 11 and is part of a giveaway contest where Dew-drinkers who collect and scan all 50 state labels will automatically win a $100 prepaid VISA gift card. Every valid scanned bottle will enter customers into the $1 million dollar grand prize sweepstakes. Create an account on their site, enter the code found under the bottle cap, and scan your bottle.
A interactive map featuring each state's uniquely designed label can be found on their website. When you click on Ohio, several familiar icons can be seen including a hippo (who we can surmise is Miss Fiona, otherwise it would make no sense); a "Porkopolis" flying pig; a football helmet for Canton, Ohio's Pro Football Hall of Fame; a baseball, which we can assume signifies the nation's first all-professional team The Red Stockings; buckeye leaves; the Ohio Statehouse; and a guitar for Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
See a commercial for Ohio's label featuring Fiona rocking out with her clumsy flying pig sidekick.
