Camp Washington’s Made in Camp is returning for its eighth-annual celebration to showcase the neighborhood's local artists and community on Oct. 12.

The event, sponsored by the American Sign Museum, Binski’s Bar, Camp Washington Urban Revitalization Corp, Wave Pool and The Well, will feature a variety of different stops among Camp Washington’s many studios and gallery spaces. Guests can meet artists and makers from a range of different mediums and even have a chance to try out a few artistic and technical skills along the way.

Made in Camp will offer live music from The Perfect Children and Jess Lamb and the Factory at the American Sign Museum, along with free admission to the museum for tours and activities.

Additionally, guests can visit different exhibitions and art experiences as part of Made in Camp. Wave Pool is hosting 9x18, a parking lot performance festival, a Day of the Dead celebration and a FotoFocus exhibition entitled A Thousand Words, accompanied by a live performance by artist Darius Smith.

Wave Pool’s The Welcome Project will also be hosting a FotoFocus exhibition entitled Defend the Sacred, with an artist talk by Asha White, while The Well will show FotoFocus exhibition Sona and Soma, which features the work of local youth.

The event is free for all and takes place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from noon-4:30 p.m. with afterparty activities from 4:30-8 p.m.
