This weekend, the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) is hosting the first opportunity to see their new major exhibition, Discovering Ansel Adams, and the final opportunity to see their current exhibition, The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century.

CAM’s newest exhibition, Discovering Ansel Adams, showcases the life and work of Ansel Adams, one of America’s most well-known landscape and wildlife photographers, through his photographs, correspondence and personal items. The exhibition debuts this Friday, Sept. 27 and will be available for viewing through Jan. 19. The exhibition is free for members and tickets are still available to purchase for non-members at cincinnatiartmuseum.org

As one door opens another closes, and CAM's current exhibition The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century is closing this weekend. The multimedia exhibition investigates the influence of hip-hop on society through some of its most influential artists, fashion brands and music ephemera. The exhibition is open until Sunday, Sept. 29 and is free to view for members and non-members this weekend.

Additionally, CAM hosts their Art After Dark event this Friday, Sept. 27, featuring music from acclaimed hip-hop artist Talib Kweli, DJ Bandcamp, DJ Arie and DJ Trub, with live performances from Heroes Rise Street Dance Academy. The event will also include food for purchase from local vendors and free admission to any ticketed exhibitions. Art After Dark will take place in the parking lot of CAM, rain or shine, from 5-10 p.m.
