A popular Cincinnati holiday tradition is moving to a new, temporary home this year.

Marketplace Events (MPE) produces the Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market, which hosts hundreds of local and regional boutiques and vendors for a weekend of holiday and gift shopping each November at the Duke Energy Convention Center downtown. Because the convention center is now closed until 2026 to undergo extensive renovations, the Holiday Market will be moved to the Sharonville Convention Center for the 2024 and 2025 events. MPE vice chairman Tom Baugh says Sharonville is the best venue option for the show.

“We have ultimately determined that Sharonville is the best venue option to host our holiday show in 2024 and 2025 until the Duke Energy Convention Center reopens in early 2026,” MPE vice chairman Tom Baugh said in a press release. “The good news is that this facility already produces many popular consumer events, provides free onsite parking for attendees and is conveniently located just 16 miles from downtown. We are working hard to make sure the transition is as seamless as possible.”

Holiday Market show manager Kelly Scott said the market teams are looking forward to hosting a great event in Sharonville.

“The facility operators at Sharonville have been extremely accommodating and cooperative with us. Our teams will be working creatively together in the coming months to ensure this year’s show will continue to be the fun, festive and memorable kick off to Cincinnati’s holiday shopping season that we all know and love,” she said in the release.

“These shows are the economic lifeline to thousands of small businesses in the Greater Cincinnati community, and we are committed to them continuing,” added Baugh. “We are grateful for our exhibitors’ and the community’s patience as we exhausted every effort to find the most suitable home for our 2024 holiday show.”

The Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market will be held Friday-Sunday, Nov. 8-10. Hours will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a VIP shopping event 9-11 a.m. on Friday and Early Bird shopping from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

MPE also produces the Cincinnati Home + Garden Show. It says it's currently working to find a temporary venue for that event as well.
