The science experiment to end all science experiments is bubbling up at the Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) — and you can help them make the grade.

CMC says on Friday, June 21, it’s looking to set off a total of 100 baking soda volcanoes in the Rotunda at 10 a.m., and it needs all hands on deck.

“Things are about to get explosive, but we need all the help we can get!” wrote the museum on social media Wednesday. “Here's the plan: We’ll have tables set up throughout the Rotunda each with volcano kits for all who are able to participate. After everyone is in place, we’ll help you get your volcanoes ready, do a big count down and let ‘em rip! Can you be there???”

The museum is asking participants to bring any friends or family available. You don’t need to sign up, but space is limited, so it’ll be taking participants on a first-come-first-served basis.

Volcanoes have taken over CMC recently with the current exhibit, Pompeii: The Exhibition, featuring the tragedy that struck the city in modern-day Italy when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. The museum's OMNIMAX is also currently showing Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation, which takes viewers around the globe to learn more about these forces of nature and follow one photographer's attempt to descend into the fiery craters.
