After a nearly two-year hiatus, Cincinnati AltPop singer/songwriter Coran Stetter is bringing back his band Multimagic and debuting a new single this week. Today (Jan. 18), “Dreams” was released across all major digital music platforms. Listen to the track below.

The music isn’t the only thing that’s new for Stetter’s Multimagic. In mid-December, an entirely new lineup for the band was announced.

From 2014-2016, Multimagic was one of the most buzzed-about groups in Cincinnati, with high-profile slots at local music festivals like MidPoint and Bunbury and a New Artist of the Year nomination at the 2016 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. The group disappeared briefly as Stetter dealt with health issues and worked on launching Inhailer, the online, local-music-friendly radio station he founded in 2017.

With “Dreams,” Stetter introduces the new-era lineup of Multimagic (the former members of the band went on to form Electronic/AltPop group Passeport). With Stetter still handling guitar and lead vocal duties, Multimagic now features Meg Kekses on keyboards, Evan Brown (aka producer Smokeface) on drums, James Ruehlman on guitar and Zach Madden on bass.

With its twinkling guitars, warm and dreamy atmospherics and jubilant melodic hooks, Stetter says “Dreams” is a love song about rebounding and finding hope in a new relationship.

“Everyone has fallen out with someone before and sometimes it takes someone else to remind you of your worth,” he says.
