WHAT SHOULD I BE DOING INSTEAD OF THIS?

Salazar (Review)

Salazar brings sandwiches and house-made goodies to the OTR lunch scene

When chef Jose Salazar decided to serve lunch at his 14th and Republic bistro, however, his focus was hardly on what the various restaurants around him were doing.

If These Walls Could Talk

Bar/restaurant mural captured the ’80s — bad styles and good times

Before Burger Madness, there was mural madness at Arthur’s, the Hyde Park restaurant/bar. From 1981 to 1992, Jerry Dowling painted caricatures of 142 regulars on a 44-foot wall. The characters are still there — on the mural, anyway — but the character has changed.

Eli’s BBQ (Review)

No-frills affair is all about the food

First located at Fountain Square and Findlay Market under a rather dainty tent in the summer months this past year, Eli’s BBQ has graduated to the restaurant scene — and with honors. I decided that I wouldn’t just eat at the cafés — I would also see what treasures the museums had to offer.

Three restaurant picks for UC back-to-schoolers

Gangs of students and their parents are swarming UC’s campus these days. They’re there to get oriented — figure out where to buy books, how to register, where to work out, how to scope out the frat party with the best beer. You know, college stuff.

Parkside Cafe (Lunch Review)

Housed in a former Frisch’s Big Boy, Parkside Cafe (1024 E. McMillan St., Walnut Hills, 513-221-2026) keeps it real with its own drive-thru window, soup and salad bar and what seems to be the original Frisch’s furniture. They must still have the same ice machine, too, because the ice was Frisch’s ice.
