I'll be meeting my son for lunch next week, and my daughter wants me to see her new place on Sunday. They never seem interested in leaving Cincinnati. I always am. But while I've threatened to leave many times, so far I've stayed right here. I've moved around a lot, but I always stay local. My road doesn't really go anywhere else.
I’m a regular reader of Larry Gross’ Living Out Loud column. I’m constantly amazed at how he puts himself out there, and last week’s column is no exception (“My Bartender and Bar Politics,” issue of Nov. 12). His “ode to a bartender” story was wonderful.
I think that bartenders are like therapists for some people. You say things you wouldn't normally tell anybody else. That was my case with Laura. Over the three plus years I've known her she's seen just about every side of me. She listened to my ramblings and babblings beyond when she probably could stand it.
