As many know, Game of Thrones (Season Premiere, 9 p.m. Sunday, HBO) is based on author George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series. But what happens when the show’s progression surpasses that of the source material?
When it comes to a series that transports
viewers to another world and forces us to connect with countless
characters, only to have them hurled into a different direction (cue
the “Red Wedding” reaction reel), Game of Thrones (Season
Premiere, 9 p.m. Sunday, HBO) is king.
Now in its sixth season, Southern-fried vampire drama True Blood (9
p.m. Sundays, HBO) has truly “turned.” What started as a somewhat
realistic take on the genre, suspenseful and sexy with a wink of camp,
is now a full-blown supernatural soap opera.
After a three-week run of episodes (April 1-15) taped at the Duke Energy Convention Center last summer, Antiques Roadshow will premiere behind-the-scenes footage from the show’s Cincinnati stop (8 p.m. Monday, CET).
Tom+Chee, the local gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant, will be featured on this week’s episode of Shark Tank. Founders Trew Quackenbush and Corey Ward
will pitch their business proposition to a panel of
entrepreneur-investors (“The Sharks”) in hope of striking a deal and
expanding the franchise.
