It is sort of the Goldilocks version of concert venues. It’s not too big, not too small. It’s just right. The year-old PNC Pavilion at Riverbend has proven to be just the right mix for the Cincinnati concert porridge. The 4,100-seat amphitheater opened last spring, immediately filling a void in the Greater Cincinnati concert scene.  

Not long ago, I finished reading The Story of Joe Gould as told by Joseph Mitchell, a columnist at The New Yorker magazine from the 1930s until the mid-’60s. Living solely off his friends’ contributions to “The Joe Gould Fund,” he spent his days as an eccentric, drinking and interacting with the city’s pop society of the time.  

Steven Sebring spent 11 years working on this film about Rock icon/poet/activist Patti Smith, as worthy a subject for a documentary as anyone in Pop music. But his project at some point overwhelmed him.  

I would push their argument even further, in terms of film, due to the raging success and overwhelming output of the Judd Apatow factory. "Bromance" has remixed the romantic comedy rules and unwashed losers wittily slacking through the grind of love, jobs and weed.
