The stairway to the Goodnight Moon room at The Blue Marble serves as a portal to a simpler, more magical time most of us recall as childhood. The local Fort Thomas children’s bookstore this month celebrates 33 years providing literature for children of all ages and interests.

Greater Cincinnati civic leaders are debating whether or not to ask for a sales tax increase to help raise the funds necessary for renovations at some of its longstanding institutions such as the Museum Center and Cincinnati Zoo. But saving links to our city’s past costs money, and getting citizens from all of Cincinnati’s neighborhoods to agree to do so has proven to be problematic.

As you round the bend on North Fort Thomas Avenue in the sleepy burg of Fort Thomas, Pergola Restaurant & Bakery looks like an oasis of sorts. The large outdoor patio calls to you with its umbrellas and Florida-style bar. It's hard for anyone to pass up.
