The murder of young SCPA student and aspiring artist/musician Esme Kenney touched our city deeply, and Cincinnati's arts community took it especially hard, responding with benefit concerts and memorials. The latest concert takes place Sunday, with money raised going to the Esme Kenney SCPA Memorial Fund to assist with the an art installation tribute at the new K-12 arts school in Over-the-Rhine.

Esme Kenney Memorial Benefit

Jan. 30 • Northside Tavern

0 Comments · Tuesday, January 26, 2010
Saturday's memorial show is a fitting tribute to 13-year-old Esme Kenney, whose promising life was cut way too short. The show features music from Kim Taylor, Karen Bergquist and Linford Detweiler of Over the Rhine, Ric Hordinski, The Hiders and The Chocolate Horse. Attendees will also be able to support a planned memorial sculpture at SCPA, Esme's school, in a silent auction featuring artwork by photographer Michael Wilson, woodcut artist Jay Bolotin and Esme's mother, Lisa Kenney.
