I had a chance to be the proud stage mama of Cincinnati dining recently. Since I love showing off the wonderful, unique aspects of our local cuisine, I jumped at the opportunity to spend the morning driving and dining with Michael Stern who, with Jane Stern, explores America's regional food and comments for 'The Splendid Table,' heard locally on WVXU-FM.
As the weather cools and we enjoy a season of colds and threats of flu, we can at least be thankful that we have soup to get us through. Yes, it's soup season. That elixir that has nursed us through broken hearts, hangovers and mononucleosis. To celebrate, here's a list of some of the best soups in Cincinnati. (Of course, you'll let me know if I left any out.)
In food news, Restaurant Week, sponsored by The Greater Cincinnati Independents Group, will run March 16-22. Twenty-six restaurants will be part of the action, offering a three-course prix-fixe dinner menu for $26.09 per person.
