FotoFocus: Rituals and Enactments: The Self Portraits of Annie Arden McDonald
Following its presentation of Another Me: Transformations from Pain to Power, Photographs by Achinto Bhardra, Iris BookCafe and Gallery presents another testament to the liberating power of female transformation, this time via self portraiture. From the ages of 15 through 30, Anne Arden McDonald would enter empty buildings or landscapes to enact private performances for her camera. She describes these performances as "part ritual, part dance, and part daydream."
