Modern Spirit
The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts brings to the Cincinnati Art Museum Modern Spirit, the tale and portrayal of one of history's finest African American artists, Henry Ossawa Tanner. It was more than a century ago that Tanner displayed his first exhibit in Cincinnati, and though the times, they have a'changed, his memory lives on through Modern Spirit. The exhibition, consisting of over one hundred artworks, from paintings to sculptures, along with a major catalogue and the first children's book about Tanner written by Faith Ringgold, will move on to Houston, Texas next, so catch this spectacular glimpse of history while you still can.
