Elsie Augustave

Kenneth McNulty
7 p.m., Monday June 17 | Free

Joseph-Beth booksellers is hosting Elsie Augustave as she reads from her debut novel The Roving Tree, a story that covers trans-country adoption. The book tackles the difficult issue of children being assimilated into the American culture and difficult it can be to recapture their culture and personal histories. The book is following in stead of Randall Robinson's Makeda as the second story in the Akashic's Open Lens imprint. This provides authors from around the world to share cultural perspectives for people from every walk of life.
