Writing as Healing with Jeanne Bryner, Writer & Nurse

Emmi MacIntyre
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday April 06 | $45.

Heal thy self with writing! This workshop uses writing (poetry, journaling, narrative) and other forms of creative self-expression to explore themes of physical and spiritual healing and thriving. Finding voice for our experiences and feelings enriches our lives and all who surround us. Jeanne Bryner is a registered nurse and award-winning writer whose poetry has been adapted for the stage and performed in the US and beyond. Jeanne says, "Nursing and writing share the fields of observation and documentation. For more than three decades I've been at the bedside tending people who are broken in body or spirit. I have labeled, measured, lifted, and witnessed the body in all its glory and wreckage." While Writing as Healing was developed through Jeanne's work with cancer survivors, it is offered at Grailville to any interested in writing and health, whether their own or others'.
