The Reluctant Rescuer: From Schindler's List to Hotel Rwanda, Dr. Lawrence Baron

Keith Bowers
7:30 p.m., Monday March 04 | Free.

Dr. Lawrence Baron has held the Nasatir Chair of Modern Jewish History at San Diego State University since 1988. He has authored four books and is founder and current president of the Western Jewish Studies Association. This lecture will trace and account for the shift from the image of rescuers of victims of genocide and persecution as courageous heroes like Raoul Wallenber to more morally ambiguous characters like Oscar Schindler and Paul Ruseabagina. Located in Muntz Hall, room 119.
