Manifest Drawing Center Classes

Emmi MacIntyre
6-9 p.m., Friday February 15

Instructors Tyler Wilkinson and Shelby Shadwell will be focusing on establishing a strong foundation during the beginning stages of figure drawing. Emphasis will be placed on describing the figure, a three dimensional object in space, as a two-dimensional shape on paper. They will also describe the figure holistically, simply, and clearly with special attention to empirical observation.  The deadline to register online is Feb. 8. Classes beginning Feb. 11 and continue every Monday until March 11.

The Manifest Drawing Center occupies the entire second floor of a historic 100 year old former Masonic hall in the heart of Madisonville, neighboring the public library, a Cincinnati Police Department substation, and the Madisonville Fire Company, and is just two short blocks south of the Madisonville Arts Center. The beautiful 3000 square foot space was selected to allow for Manifest's growing curriculum of high-end drawing instruction, and provides the option for two dedicated studio spaces (one large and one small), doubling Manifest’s ability to offer more courses during the most convenient times for participants. The new facility also offers more flexible options for additional programming, including a lecture and demonstration stage for use by our instructors and special guest artists throughout the year.
