Events: Picture It: A Festival of Photography

Photography is a type of art that even the most non-artistic person can get into. Everyone likes to remember a fun event or a beautiful scene, and The Taft Museum of Art (316 Pike St., Downtown) wants to help. The museum will be hosting 'Picture It: A Festival of Photography.' Everyone is welcome — from people who want to improve their photography skills to experts, guests from children to adults are bound to learn something about photography and have a good time.

When you go to a regular grocery store, you can pick up an eight ounce carton of blackberries for about $2.79. That's a lot for about 20 berries. Why pay that much when you can pick the amount you want? Barker's Blackberry Hill Winery is offering $1.75 for a pound of "juicy, plump" blackberries at their winery in Crittenden for July and August. There are about 3,000 hybrid thornless blackberry bushes to choose from.

Considering the first Butler County Fair consisted of a few wagons displaying the latest farm supplies, the fair has worked its way up to provide entertainment for everyone and fun for all ages. From a Mad Cap puppet show each day to a corn hole tournament, visitors can bring anyone to come enjoy the fair. There will be a horticultural and agricultural display and judging, as well as arts and crafts and the usual rides a festival would not be complete without.

Nik Wallenda holds the Guinness world record for the longest distance and greatest height ever traveled by bicycle on a high wire, and he and his famous family bring his thrilling act to Coney Island. Come and see as Wallenda walks five stories above Sunlite Pool on a 5/8-inch rope without safety devices. Performances are at various times June 26-July 5, excluding July 4.
