The Contemporary Arts Center has canceled one of its first shows of the 2009-10 season, Young Country. That group show, in which young artists address issues and symbols of Americana, was scheduled to open Oct.
The center cited several reasons for the cancellation, including economic factors and a shortage of personnel. The curator who championed and was organizing it, Maiza Hixson, left the CAC earlier this month. A current exhibition, Anri Sala: Purchase Not By Moonlight, will be extended to take its place.
