WHAT SHOULD I BE DOING INSTEAD OF THIS?

Mayberry Moving to Main

josh campbellChef Josh Campbell of Mayberry - Chef Josh Campbell of Mayberry

Mayberry is small but mighty tasty. Soon, it will be slightly larger — large enough to accommodate the big talent of its young owner, Josh Campbell. Cincinnati native Campbell said today that he'll be opening in the space formerly occupied by the Courtyard Cafe, 1211 Main, sometime in the New Year. Mayberry's current locale, while great for lunch, is tiny and doesn't allow for drinks at dinner.

It'll be great to see what lies ahead for Mayberry! In the meantime, stop by the current location at 915 Vine for lunch or dinner. You won't regret it!

I LOVE Mayberry....I knew they'd outgrow that space on Vine - just too small for all the BIG, delicious flavors they're cooking up!!  Can't wait to see the new locale - Best of luck!

Now maybe he will pay a little more attention to the Skinny Pig-- it leaves something to be desired.  Too narrow a menu, too steep a price for what you get.  Plus they have been out of multiple items every time I've been there.  I want it to succeed-- C'mon Josh!

I hope this new space pays off, but I'm skeptical. As creative of a chef Josh is, I've always found him to be shortsighted on the business side of it. The grocery had miss-matched stock (e.g. homemade pizza crust but cheap Kraft salad dressing), as well as unattentive, somewhat rude clerks. And every time I've been to Mayberry, Josh himself is either leaning across the counter or yapping on the phone. Great food, but struggles with being professional.
