Though it feels like we're just getting over the glorious musical hangover caused by the 2010 edition of the MidPoint Music Festival, today marks the beginning of MPMF's 2011 cycle. Starting today, artists interested in performing at this year's MidPoint can begin submitting press kits.
After a year that saw record attendance numbers, the MidPoint Music Festival is set to return to the clubs and venues of downtown Cincinnati Sept.
Early birds will receive a discount on the entry fees. The “introductory” submission period is open until Tuesday; the “early” submission period runs March 2-31. After that, the regular entry rate kicks in and submissions will be accepted until May 16.
The submissions will be processed through Sonicbids again this year. The artists’ EPKs should include three original songs, as well as a bio, press clips and photos. Visit mpmf.com for the submission link and more info.
It was also announced that the MidPoint Indie Summer Series — the popular, free Friday night concerts on Fountain Square featuring local, regional and national acts — returns for a third year beginning June 3 and running throughout the summer.
