Some Greater Cincinnati residents said "Thank you" today to U.S. Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-Price Hill).

Working America, an activist group affiliated with the AFL-CIO labor union, delivered over 50 handwritten letters from area residents to the congressman, thanking him for his recent support of President Obama’s health care reform bill.

Also, the letters urge Driehaus to support House efforts to pass a jobs creation bill and to impose stricter regulations on Wall Street financial firms.

The letters were delivered Friday afternoon to the congressman’s downtown office in the Carew Tower. Driehaus was present to receive them.

Driehaus, a West Side Catholic, is facing a tough race this year to retain his 1st Congressional District seat against Republican Steve Chabot. Chabot held the job for years until voters ousted him in 2008.

WOW! A whole 50 letters from union people who are basically paid DNC staffers!

Actually, the tally came to close to 300 letters collected door to door in a couple week time period. The fifty you mentioned were a highlight of what was collected.
