Having only heard the most recent album, Absolution, I was eager to borrow this from a friend about two months ago. I'm still amazed by the full sound that these guys get out of a three-piece band.
My favorite song at the moment is "Cave." Oh, and I still haven't given it back.
· Postal Service -- Give Up
I don't even know how to describe except to call it "Synth Folk." Their songs consist of thoughtful lyrics and crazy '80s synth-ridden music. The best CD in the world to listen to while driving. It's so calming that all road rage just dissolves.
· Spindle -- The $6,000 Tragedy
This has been in my constant rotation for quite some time now. I can't wait to get my hands on the new one so I don't have to sit at my computer on myspace.com to listen to the new stuff.
· Incubus -- S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
I'm a bass player, and Dirk Lance is one of my biggest influences, therefore this is one of my favorite albums. The bass lines he writes inspire me to attempt to come up with creative lines without playing too much by trying fun timings and syncopation.
· Green Day -- American Idiot
Green Day has yet to disappoint me. I'm amazed at the way they've matured to this album. The songs are just absolutely amazing. Call it Punk Rock, AltRock, Garage Rock or whatever ... but it f'n rocks.
LANGUS (langus.com) performs Saturday at Soupie's with Proximity Grey.
