´ A benefit to assist injured local bass player Chris Walker takes place at Molly Malone's in Covington this Friday. The "Friends for Chris Walker" show is also the CD release party for the new one by Blues/Rock band Conrail Saints, one of the many local groups to which Walker has lent his formidable skills (Walker plays on the CD).

´ Jazz/Funk/Fusion ensemble Souse is celebrating its new CD release, Push, with a 9 p.m. show at Poor Michael's Pub in Fairfield this Friday. The septet does arrangements of compositions by Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Billy Cobham, which gives a good sense of the style of the funky originals on the expertly produced and performed album (look for a review soon).
