There have been a number of restaurant openings throughout town recently. Along with Seny in Walnut Hills and Sung Korean Bistro and Via Vite downtown, Greek Isles, a Mediterranean restaurant, has opened in Liberty Township; Raja, an Indian restaurant, opened in Mason; and The Stone Creek Dining Company opened in Montgomery. ...

Other openings to look forward to this fall include Pita Grill in Tri-County Mall in December. Sami Awad, the former owner of Mejana, will be at the helm. Potbelly Sandwich opens its fourth location on Fountain Square in November and Mythos will open their third downtown location in the former home of the Atlanta Bread Co. on Fourth Street. Owner George Psihountakis recently closed the Mythos location in Newport; the new restaurant, Mythos Grille, is scheduled to open later in November.

East African Restaurant will be re-opening in a new spot on Montgomery Road in Pleasant Ridge in December as Emanu and an Austrian bakery, the Heart of Salzburg Bakery, is slated for Northside. Don Kamlager; his daughter Sydney Santner, an artist; and her husband Norbert, an Austrian baker, are renovating properties on Spring Grove Avenue that will include a retail store, wholesale baking facility and art gallery. ...

Fall brings a number of menu changes as well. Nectar in Mount Lookout announced themed menus for the fall dinner club, which includes "Everything Goat Cheese" on Nov. 15 and "Horseradish...more than just one flavor" on Dec. 1. The restaurant is also open for Sunday brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The current seasonal menu features a vegetable frittata, smoked salmon Benedict with crispy polenta and roasted tomato hollandaise and challah French toast with pecan and local honey butter and pear compote. ...

The Hideaway in Northside has a new winter menu. Choices include beef brisket, Polenta Terrine, Quesadilla of the Moment and Chicken & Dumplings. Pacific Moon is offering dim sum every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Koka Coffee Lounge in Mount Adams has new soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps and they are expanding their breakfast menu to include egg sandwiches served on bagels or croissants (daily) and Belgian waffles on weekends. ...

Closings include Southview Restaurant at Newport on the Levee. The Federal Reserve will be going into that location.
