At 10 a.m. on Aug. 9, Stephanie provides details on how to create effervescent fermentation of sweetened tea with a home-brewing system.
Each person in the class receives one small piece of a SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast) — sometimes referred to as a "mushroom" or "mother," the kombucha culture. Bring your own glass container. Additional materials needed can be found at Park + Vine or in your own kitchen.
