Talented Jazz vocalist Annie Sellick returns to Cincinnati this week for three shows at the Blue Wisp with her trio (drummer Chris Brown, bassist Jerry Navarro and pianist Chris Walters).

The Nashville singer’s wide-ranging projects — which include a Gypsy Jazz-inspired album, a full-length with famed Jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco and an excellent 2013 Christmas album — have garnered Sellick a mountain of glowing press accolades over the years; JazzTimes says she’s “so uniquely gifted that preeminence seems a foregone conclusion.” Sellick’s vocal chops are dazzling and impressively versatile, easily moving between an almost giddy buoyancy and a smoldering soulfulness, depending on the material.

ANNIE SELLICK plays the Blue Wisp Jazz Club on Thursday, May 29 (8 p.m.) and Friday, May 30 (sets at 7 and 9 p.m.
