Flogging Molly is returning to Bogart’s yet again, but it will be a little bit bittersweet this time. The jarringly wonderful Celtic Punk band says its current “Green 17” tour — an annual countdown to St. Patrick’s Day — will be its last. The group says it’s the 10th and final round of this specific raucous road venture.
It’s been a busy year for Flogging Molly. The final Green 17 tour is coming right on the heels of a round of touring in the U.K.
Before that, the guys (and their lovely fiddler, Bridget Regan) were stirring up a ruckus in Russia, Australia and the rest of the globe. So we are certain they’re in for a much-needed and well-deserved break. Hopefully we’ll hear of the band logging some serious studio time back in its headquarters in Los Angeles, post-St. Paddy’s Day. Flogging Molly’s most recent album, Speed of Darkness, was released three years ago and fans are ready for some new tunes from the septet.Sure, they’re coming to Bogart’s two weeks ahead of the most holy of holidays (for Irish people and drinkers, at least). But that shouldn’t stop you from throwing on some green, strappin’ on your suspenders and getting the feck out on the floor to party down with Flogging Molly. A beer and some banjo really are the best cures for a case of the Mondays.
FLOGGING MOLLY plays Bogart's on Monday, March 3. Click here for tickets and more info.
