A strange magic is attacking Cincinnati in Kim Harrison’s The Undead Pool, the 12th (and penultimate) entry in her best-selling Hallows series of urban fantasy books. Harrison’s long-running protagonist, Rachel Morgan, is a crafty detective witch, who this time out must save the Queen City from a possible civil war between human beings and the Interlanders — non-human races that range from demons and trolls to pixies and fairies.
Expect another deftly crafted narrative from a prolific author who has a gift for envisioning fully fleshed alternate universes.
