Follow a cue from Antonio Adams’ series of visionary highway paintings and take the off-ramp (Exit 6 off I-71 in this case) to Common Surprise: Celebrating the Diversity of Black Artists in Cincinnati.

This exhibit recognizes a range of subjects and techniques employed by local African-American artists.

Adams, Monique Brent, Cedric Michael Cox, Vince Gray, Jimi Jones, Marc Lambert and Nancy Williams depict Jazz musicians, sci-fi landscapes, abstract images and more. Surprises include pointillism paintings and mixed-media works that make use of rocks, rope and trash.

Opening reception 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Through March. Free. Gallery Salveo at Interact for Health, 3805 Edwards Road, Suite 500 (Rookwood Tower), Norwood, 513-458-6616, interactforhealth.org.
