More found footage, this time from a new husband (Zach Gilford) dedicated to documenting as much of his wedded bliss as possible. In life, everything happens so quickly that sometimes it makes sense to keep track of it all, especially when, after an unplanned pregnancy, hubby begins to notice more than a few unusual, unexplainable occurrences, which stand out as red flags that something wicked lurks in the shadows.

We’ve been trained by the recent wave of movies utilizing personal video to trick ourselves into thinking and/or believing that what we see on the screen is somehow more real (because this form of documentation is something we all do in this age of smartphones and digital technology), but directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with a script from Lindsay Devlin, are merely rehashing/rebooting Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen for audiences who don’t have the time or patience to go back and watch those “old” movies. Opens wide Jan. 17. (R) Not screened in time for review
