Catch the tail end of photographer Tyler Shields’ Shot in Cincinnati
exhibit at the Miller Gallery, featuring a world debut of 15 special-edition photographs shot locally between 2012 and 2013.
Shields, an L.A.-based photographer, is best known for his edgy celebrity portraits, including one where his then-girlfriend Francesca Eastwood (as in Clint Eastwood’s daughter) poses next to a burning $100,000 Hermès Birkin bag.
He has been compared to photog Terry Richardson in both style and controversy and his new photographic book, The Dirty Side of Glamour, showcases stripped-down images of celebrities that sometimes “push the boundaries of good taste,” as the press release says, and also comment on the trappings and excess of fame and youth. Featured inside is local-boy-turned-Hunger Games-superstar Josh Hutcherson, shirtless and covered in mud.
10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Through Jan. 2. Miller Gallery, 2715 Erie Ave., Hyde Park, millergallery.com.
