This week, Go Bananas offers a great chance to catch some very funny comics with ties to the Cincinnati scene.

Born to Canadian parents in Georgia, Gabe Kea grew up in Missouri. And though he has never lived north of the boarder, he’s often identified as a Canadian. “When I started doing comedy people would say ‘the Canuck,’” he says. “I think people just like to have a way to label someone.” After starting his stand-up career in St.

Louis, he moved to Cincinnati after becoming friendly with many of the local comics. He also reasoned the Queen City was more centrally located to the cities he was starting to perform in.

Also onstage is Alex Stone, a Symmes Township native who moved to Chicago last year in an effort to advance his stand-up career. He performs regularly throughout the Midwest. “I always try and keep it pretty autobiographical,” he says. “Whatever I’m going through, or anything I can think of from the past.”

The show also features local Sam Evans, who has been living and performing in New York.

Showtimes Thursday-Sunday. $8-$14. Go Bananas, 8410 Market Place Lane, Montgomery, 513-984-9288, gobananascomedy.com.
