Need a few good laughs to round out your holiday season?

The Cincinnati Playhouse has the perfect show for you on its Shelterhouse stage. Three guys race through the history of comedy — from its birth (literally) through funny bits that include Abraham Lincoln (“America’s funniest president”), Anton Chekhov (Star Trek fans beware) and a satirical riff on the Supreme Court (to tunes by The Supremes).

These guys dreamed up The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), so they know how to navigate the choppy waters of comedy with great results.

Through Dec.

29. $30-$75. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, 962 Mount Adams Circle, Mount Adams, 513-421-3888, cincyplay.com
