The American Family Association got real mad last week when it found out Radio Shack is not using the word “Christmas” in its holiday sales, calling for a boycott of the retailer due to “censorship.”  WORLD -1

A self-congratulatory local tea party organization called the One Percent for Liberty announced nominees for its annual “Defender of Liberty” award to be presented at the COAST Christmas party in the suburbs. Most nominees are either directly affiliated with COAST or have said “freedom isn’t free” in public enough times in 2013 for everyone to know they’re serious about it.

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt says the rise of social media will lead to a liberalization of China as more people use the Internet to free themselves from tyranny via funny cat videos and professional wrestling gifs.

Organic farmers have taken exception to Food and Drug Administration plans to limit the use of animal manure in farming.  WORLD -1

The same week Cincinnati’s daily newspaper not-so-subtly downplayed the cost of canceling the streetcar project, The Enquirer published an editorial arguing that the city needs to invest more resources in public transit.
