Charles Dickens is surely the patron saint of many theaters. His beloved tale of Scrooge’s re-education by ghosts on Christmas Eve has kept many afloat with holiday productions.
The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park has one of the best I’ve seen, and it’s back for its 23rd year. But to see how the story can be told another way, the Covedale Center is presenting a musical version of A Christmas Carol.
Both open the day after Thanksgiving.
Can there be too many Scrooges? Humbug to that!
Through Dec. 29 at the Playhouse. $35-$90. 962 Mt. Adams Circle, Mount Adams, 513-421-3888, cincyplay.com.
