Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati keeps the hits coming from Broadway’s A-list.

Gina Gionfriddo’s tale of grass that’s greener on the other side of the fence was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2012.

With Lynn Meyers directing a strong local cast, this one should please local audiences. Corinne Mohlenhoff, a Cincy Shakes favorite, is Catherine, a rock-star academic who wonders if that’s all there is. She returns home and takes up with Don (Charlie Clark), who happens to be married to her ex-best friend, Gwen (Jen Joplin). Juicy and unexpected — that’s the outcome.

Tuesday-Sunday through Oct. 27. $39-$43. Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, 1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine, 513-421-3555, ensemblecincinnati.org
