Art: Posters & Prayers Benefit for Mike Amann

By Maria Seda-Reeder · September 17th, 2013 · CityBeat Recommends

If you ever needed a good excuse to go and buy some locally printed posters for your home, now is the perfect opportunity: The Friends of Mike Amann group is putting on a benefit for their beloved colleague, Mike Amann — owner of BLDG creative refuge and gallery, Covington arts advocate and all-around nice guy — who’s been battling stage four colon cancer since late last year.

Artists from around the country have donated poster prints, originals and other pieces concealed in a $20 “mystery tube.” All proceeds from art sales and 20 percent of the evening’s food and drink sales will assist the Amann family in offsetting medical expenses.

6 p.m.

Thursday. Free. Arnold’s Bar and Grill, 210 E. Eighth St., Downtown, bldgrefuge.com.
