Important People is a loose collection of writers based in Cincinnati who aspire to encourage collaboration between various art forms with a non-traditional reading series. Saturday, as part of their independent film series called STARING EYES, Third Party Gallery in Brighton and Important People team up to present the work of two readers and two artists who have documented their experiences with violence and war.

WYSO (Miami Valley’s public radio station) radio producer Emily McCord will present her piece about Iraqi refugees living in Dayton, while Deborah Stratman’s film “O’er The Land” is a meditation on American aspirations of freedom.

Readings by Nico Lang and Elwin Cotman.

7 p.m.; door opens at 6 p.m. Free. Third Party Gallery, 2159 Central Ave., Brighton, thirdpartygallery.com.
