Despite the fact that he is no longer of our earthly realm, visitors can “meet” the founder of the world’s second largest fast food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken’s Harland “Colonel” Sanders, at the Boone County Public Library.
Henry Dowell, an internationally produced playwright and native Kentuckian, is currently touring as Colonel Sanders as part of a Kentucky Humanities Council initiative to bring to life historically accurate dramatizations of Kentucky citizens who made a difference. Listen to Dowell recount the life of Colonel Sanders — and try to bribe him for the secret “11 herbs and spices” recipe.
