Dayton native Ryan Singer, who started his comedy career at Go Bananas in Montgomery and now lives in L.A,, returns to his “home club” this weekend.
When he’s not on the road he tries to stay busy. “It’s tough being out (in L.A.),” he confesses, “because it’s beautiful and there’s the beach and the mountains. But I have to constantly remind myself that I moved out here to work.”
He’s currently working on, among other things, a web series about a guy who falls for his best friend. She is unaware of his affections, prompting him to seek a therapist. “I don’t have any money so I get one off the Internet and it’s a ventriloquist dummy.”
Thursday-Sunday. $8-$14. 8410 Market Place Lane, Montgomery, 513-984-9288, gobananascomedy.com.
