Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky families are invited to attend the second annual Hopefest Elementary Education and Health Festival, an event that teaches children and their families how to take good care of themselves and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Children will receive backpacks filled with school supplies and there will be medical volunteers conducting screenings and distributing information about nutrition and child wellness.

Information sessions will target major health concerns for at-risk youth, and the Cincinnati Reds will have mascots available to visit with children. Hopefest is sponsored by Consider the Poor and New Life Covenant Cincinnati, both headed by Sherman Bradley.

11 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. Washington Park, 1230 Elm Street, Over-the-Rhine, 513-615-2201, considerthepoor.org.
