There might not be a more beloved piece of architecture in town than the blue John A. Roebling Bridge, which stretches between Covington’s Riverside Drive and Cincinnati’s Riverfront Park. The historic structure — famously begun before the Civil War and used as a model for Roebling’s subsequent project, the Brooklyn Bridge — the Roebling was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and remains the busiest of Cincinnati’s four non-freeway automobile or pedestrian bridges.

To celebrate this landmark’s history, the Covington-Cincinnati Suspension Bridge Committee (the group responsible for funding the installation/maintenance of bridge beautification, lighting and flags) hosts this annual event featuring food and beverage booths, historic tours and an art show/sale showcasing local talents.

Expect historic impersonators, a full program of children’s activities and a Hands Across the Roebling event at 2 p.m.

11 a.m.-11 p.m. Free. Intersection of Park Avenue and Court Street, Covington, roeblingbridge.org
